SUMMARY
Responsible for implementation of production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements with project-based activities, including new product introduction and manufacturing cell design to reduce waste, improve quality and safety and reduce operating costs. Manage KPIs and ensure preventative actions are taken to maximize success. Work on many phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of moderate complexity, with results impacting on project completion. Work under general supervision, reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by Senior Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES
- Identify and define manufacturing requirements for new product introductions (NPI) in collaboration with design and development teams.
- Design and develop efficient manufacturing processes, systems, and workflows for both new and existing products.
- Evaluate and implement production tools, fixtures, and jigs to support safe, ergonomic, and cost-effective assembly operations.
- Design fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks using AutoCAD.
- Prepare and maintain detailed process documentation, including standard work instructions, PFMEA, and control plans.
- Ensure product and process compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards throughout the production lifecycle.
- Analyze production data and process performance (yield, cycle time, downtime) to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, value stream mapping, Poka-Yoke, and standardization to reduce waste and variability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team (Production, QAQC, Sales) on root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts using structured tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D).
- Participating in improving process flow to minimize unwanted waste that may contribute to low processes' effectiveness.
- Carry out FMEAs, (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) process documentation and implement improvements.
- Support equipment selection and procurement by evaluating process needs and participating in technical assessments.
- Coordinate process trials, pilot runs, and capability studies to validate new or modified manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams on equipment installation, start-up, and troubleshooting.
