Responsibilities

• You must architect, build, and operate enterprise-scale SIEM platforms across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• You are expected to design, maintain, and optimize the underlying SIEM infrastructure and platform components.
• You must manage performance tuning and capacity planning, including EPS/TPS modelling, search concurrency, workload management, storage, compute, and licensing optimization.
• You are responsible for onboarding and managing high-volume log sources across cloud, endpoint, network, identity, SaaS, and custom applications.
• You must automate SIEM deployments, upgrades, configuration, and content management using IaC, CI/CD, scripting, and version control where appropriate.
• You are expected to troubleshoot complex platform issues spanning operating systems, networks, storage, query performance, and data integrity, acting as the escalation point for major SIEM incidents and outages.
• You must design, review, and optimize high-fidelity detection use cases aligned with MITRE ATT&CK, translating threat scenarios and adversary behaviour into scalable detection logic.
• You are expected to tune detection rules to balance security coverage, detection precision, and SOC workload.
• You must work closely with SOC, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams to improve alert quality, investigation workflows, triage, and response effectiveness.
• You should enable threat hunting through performant and flexible SIEM search and analytics capabilities.
• You are expected to provide technical guidance during major security incidents and post-incident reviews, ensuring lessons learned are incorporated into the SIEM platform.
• You must establish SIEM engineering standards, technical patterns, and best practices while acting as a technical authority for SIEM engineering.
• You should mentor junior SIEM and detection engineers and promote consistent engineering practices across the team.

Job Requirement

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in security engineering, SIEM engineering, or large scale security monitoring platforms across on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments.
• Proven experience supporting 24x7 SOC environments with high-volume security telemetry and log ingestion.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SIEM architecture, platform engineering, performance tuning, capacity planning, and detection engineering.
• Deep experience designing, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise SIEM platforms.
• Strong understanding of SOC operations, attacker behaviour, incident response workflows, detection engineering, and security monitoring.
• Experience designing and tuning effective, high-fidelity detections using frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Strong foundation in Linux, networking, and cloud platforms, with experience integrating security telemetry across hybrid environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation to standardize SIEM deployments, configuration, content management, and operational processes.
• Experience with IaC, CI/CD, configuration automation, and version control for SIEM engineering is advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex multi layer technical issues in mission-critical environments.
• Demonstrated ability to act as a technical authority, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively across SOC, Cloud, Infrastructure, Threat Intelligence, and Incident Response functions.

Pay: RM14,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
