About PichaEats

Founded in 2016, PichaEats is a Malaysian halal catering social enterprise. We work with talented chefs and their families from refugee communities to serve corporate catering, bento delivery, buffets, canapés and event catering across the Klang Valley. Every order creates a livelihood for the families we work with.

About the Role. As an Operations Intern, you will be at the heart of our daily operations, ensuring every meal, catering event and logistics process runs smoothly. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. If you enjoy solving problems, working in a fast-paced environment and making a real social impact, we would love to meet you.

What You'll Do

Daily Operations

• Assist with day-to-day catering operations

• Support meal packing and ensure orders are packed accurately and on time

• Coordinate with different teams to ensure a smooth operational flow

• Assist with inventory, equipment and operational readiness

Logistics & Deliveries

• Arrange and coordinate deliveries using platforms such as Lalamove, Grab and other logistics partners

• Communicate with drivers and delivery partners to ensure timely deliveries

• Track deliveries and troubleshoot logistical issues as they arise

• Support route planning to improve delivery efficiency

Catering Operations

• Assist with catering setup, service and breakdown

• Attend catering events, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends or public holidays

• Ensure catering equipment and supplies are prepared before each event

• Support the operations team during peak production periods

Process Improvement

• Assist in updating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency

• Support documentation and administrative tasks related to operations

Team Support

• Work closely with the chefs and the operations, logistics, production and community teams

• Participate in team training sessions and operational meetings

• Contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment

• Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new systems and apps

• Confident using logistics platforms such as Lalamove, Grab and similar delivery services

• Highly organised, with strong attention to detail

• Able to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced environment

• A proactive problem-solver who takes initiative

• A team player who communicates well with different stakeholders

• Passionate about creating positive social impact

Requirements

• Diploma or degree student (or recent graduate) in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, Hospitality, Event Management or a related field

• Open to UNHCR card holders

• Comfortable with physical work, including packing, lifting and preparing catering equipment when required

• Willing to work beyond regular office hours when operational needs arise; overtime will be compensated according to company policy

• Willing to travel to catering venues and operational sites

• Own transport is an added advantage, as there may be occasional ad hoc errands or site visits

• Able to commit for at least 6 months.
