We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead and maintain the Promotion Core Engine, a mission-critical system responsible for promotion calculation and bonus distribution across multiple gaming markets and wallet architectures. The role focuses on high-performance backend architecture, promotion algorithm development, and data integrity across distributed systems. The engineer will ensure accurate promotion computation, maintain system reliability under high transaction volumes, and collaborate closely with data pipelines and reporting systems. Understanding Return to Player (RTP) mechanics within gaming systems is required. On site and must be able to communicate in Mandarin.

Technical Requirements

The role requires strong backend development expertise, particularly in PHP frameworks such as Laravel and CodeIgniter, along with experience developing backend services using Golang. The candidate should have deep knowledge of RESTful API architecture and implementation to support scalable and reliable system integrations. In terms of database and data processing, advanced experience with PostgreSQL is required, including database design, schema architecture, query optimization, and performance tuning. Familiarity with Redis is also important for caching mechanisms and improving system performance. From an infrastructure and tooling perspective, hands-on experience working in Docker-based environments and proficiency with Git version control workflows are essential. Additionally, at a support level, the candidate should have experience interacting with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, including frameworks like jQuery, ReactJS, or similar libraries.

Core Responsibilities

The Senior Backend Engineer will act as the primary technical owner of the Promotion Core Engine, a critical system responsible for promotion logic across both Transfer Wallet and Seamless Wallet architectures deployed in multiple regional markets. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the promotion logic to ensure reliable operation across all markets. This includes designing and maintaining promotion calculation algorithms, ensuring accurate promotion bonus computation, validating promotion reporting outputs, maintaining system integrity across multi-market deployments, and optimizing backend performance to support high transaction volumes. The focus of the role is on maintaining the core promotion engine logic while ensuring system reliability and scalability.

Data & System Collaboration

The promotion engine operates on centralized pooled data pipelines powered by Kafka, which are shared across several systems. The engineer will be responsible for validating Kafka data streams used in promotion calculations and ensuring data consistency across promotion, reporting, and referral systems. The role also involves recommending improvements to data structures and storage strategies to support scalability and performance. Since the same pooled data is utilized by multiple systems, maintaining high standards of data accuracy, structural integrity, and consistency is essential to ensure that reporting outputs correctly reflect the underlying promotion calculation logic.
