Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Experience

• Proven experience in air freight sales or a similar sales role within the logistics industry.

• Strong understanding of air freight logistics, including pricing, regulations, market dynamics, and operational processes.

• Experience in team leadership and customer relationship management will be an advantage.

Sales Strategy & Business Development

• Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue and business growth targets in the air freight sector.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including prospective clients and new market segments.

• Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation to deal closure and ensure strong conversion rates.

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and strategic partners.

• Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate air freight solutions.

Client Relationship Management

• Maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.

• Provide excellent customer service and promptly address customer enquiries, issues, and concerns.

• Ensure customer requirements are met while maintaining high service standards.

Air Freight Operations

• Oversee all aspects of air freight operations and ensure shipments are handled efficiently.

• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.

• Coordinate with airlines, ground handling agents, and other service providers to ensure smooth cargo operations.

• Monitor shipment and operational performance to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

• Manage and oversee outsourced air freight activities where required.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the air freight team to enhance their skills and expertise.

• Set clear objectives and provide guidance and support to achieve operational and sales targets.

• Monitor team performance and ensure productivity and service quality.

Market Analysis & Reporting

• Analyse market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and customer needs to identify business opportunities.

• Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics for senior management.

• Analyse operational and commercial data to support business decision-making.

Vendor & Carrier Management

• Negotiate contracts, rates, and service levels with airlines, ground handling agents, and other service providers.

• Monitor vendor performance and establish strong, reliable business partnerships.

• Continuously evaluate service providers to ensure competitive pricing and service quality.

Cross-Department Collaboration

• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, and other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.

• Work with the Marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns for air freight services.
