Solutions Sales Engineer – Industrial Equipment

Penang, Malaysia

We are recruiting a Solutions Sales Engineer for an industrial equipment supplier.

This role combines consultative sales with hands-on technical support, helping manufacturing customers identify, implement and maintain equipment suited to their needs.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

• Manage existing customer accounts and develop new business opportunities.
• Understand customers’ technical challenges and propose suitable equipment solutions.
• Conduct product demonstrations and prepare quotations and proposals.
• Participate in exhibitions and technical seminars.
• Identify market opportunities and contribute ideas to support business growth.

Technical Service & Support

• Support equipment installation, commissioning and start-up.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Provide maintenance, after-sales service and technical assistance.
• Train customers on equipment operation.

Requirements

• Experience in manufacturing engineering, equipment maintenance, technical sales or field service.
• Valid driving license.
• Advantage: Japanese proficiency equivalent to JLPT N3 or above, to support communication with Japanese manufacturers.
• Interest in both customer-facing sales and practical technical work.
• Willingness to carry out hands-on equipment repair, adjustment and maintenance.
• A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
