Senior Java Developer

Ignite Search is a specialist recruitment company within the Technology & Renewables space, located in Singapore.

Our client is a global technology consultancy specialising in financial services, delivering critical trading and technology programmes for many of the world's leading investment banks.

They are hiring multiple Java developers to work with their end client, a Tier 1 global investment bank, within its Equities Electronic Execution team. You will design and build the bank's next generation low latency execution platform, covering algorithmic trading, smart order routing, internalisation, exchange and client connectivity, and market data processing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high performance, low latency electronic execution systems
• Partner with traders, quant researchers and clients to translate their needs into new product features, including execution performance improvements, new liquidity sources and DMA capabilities
• Improve and maintain testing frameworks, development tools and environments to ensure platform reliability at scale
• Use AI powered development tooling across the software development lifecycle to improve productivity and code quality
• Champion Agile and CI/CD practices with a focus on shift left testing and faster release cycles
• Build and maintain common solutions for platform monitoring, trade reconciliation and application recovery
• Work closely with product, quant research, infrastructure, production support and QA teams across regions

Requirements

• Strong, proven expertise in low latency Java
• Experience developing electronic trading platforms at a global financial institution or similar environment
• Solid grasp of low latency system design, including performance optimisation, concurrency and high throughput architecture
• Strong understanding of automated testing and quality engineering practices
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and continuous integration
• Knowledge of regional exchange microstructure and regulatory regimes
• Excellent communication skills in a multicultural, globally distributed team
• Experience managing small teams is a plus
