Robotics Engineer – Robotics & Embedded Systems – Singapore

An innovative technology business specialising in underwater robotics is looking to recruit a Robotics Engineer to support the development of advanced robotic systems for maritime applications.

This is a hands-on engineering opportunity, working across software development, embedded systems, electrical integration and testing. You will contribute to the development of the software and electrical systems powering underwater robotic platforms, with opportunities to get involved in prototyping, debugging and real-world field trials.

What you'll do as a Robotics Engineer:

• Develop code in C++ and Python for embedded systems and robotic applications.
• Contribute to firmware development for STM32 microcontrollers and related controllers.
• Support the implementation of ROS 2-based software components for perception, navigation and communication.
• Integrate and test software alongside hardware components, including IMUs, cameras, encoders and motor controllers.
• Troubleshoot software and hardware integration issues, helping to improve system reliability.
• Debug real-time robotic data pipelines covering sensor fusion and motion control.
• Participate in robot deployments, field trials and system validation activities.

What you'll bring as a Robotics Engineer:

• Experience or familiarity with C/C++ and Python, ideally within robotics or embedded systems.
• Familiarity with ROS or ROS 2 frameworks and Linux environments.
• Understanding of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN or RS485.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary and international teams.
• Hands-on experience with electronics prototyping, soldering or debugging.
• An interest in applying robotics and embedded software to underwater applications.
