We’re looking for a software engineering intern who gets excited about backend engineering, databases, and system design.
You’ll work directly with us building CodeKite — designing backend systems, thinking through data models and APIs, and turning rough product ideas into reliable software.
Who you'll work with
Jack Min is a Malaysian ML and systems engineer who spent the last few years in San Francisco at Prime Intellect, joining when the company was worth $10k and helping build it to its most recent valuation of $1B. Along the way, he worked on large-scale distributed training, inference, and research spanning thousands of GPUs.
Hong Bing is a longtime builder and hackathon winner deeply involved in Malaysia's grassroots tech scene. He co-founded AI Hackerdorm, a student AI builder community with 500+ members across Malaysia, and has spent the last few years building, organizing hackathons, mentoring students, and bringing Malaysian builders together.
Who we're looking for
You enjoy backend engineering and designing systems
You're interested in databases, APIs, and data modeling
You care about writing simple, reliable software
You like understanding how things work, not just making them work
You're curious, learn quickly, and want real ownership
You don't need a long resume or tons of experience. We care much more about curiosity, technical judgment, and being excited to build.
Compensation (intern)
Full-time: RM2,000/month
Part-time while taking classes: RM1,000/month
One more thing
We hope this will be a bit of an adventure.
One thing both of us have learned surprisingly early in our careers is that it's almost always a good idea to embark on an adventure. Say yes to interesting things, work with people you can learn from, build things you haven't built before, and see where it takes you.
If that sounds fun, come build with us.
