Job Summary

The Operations Associate plays an important role in supporting the daily operational activities of Borong Marketplace by sourcing, purchasing and handling products based on customer orders. The incumbent will be responsible for visiting designated retail outlets and supermarkets, ensuring product accuracy, quality and quantity, and supporting the timely fulfilment of customer requirements. This role requires a hands-on individual who is comfortable with physical tasks and can work efficiently to meet daily operational needs.

Key Accountabilities

• Execute daily shopping and purchasing activities at designated supermarkets, retail outlets and other stores based on customer orders and operational requirements.
• Identify, select and verify products to ensure the correct items, brands, quantities and specifications are purchased according to order details.
• Inspect product quality, packaging and expiry dates to ensure items meet the required standards before purchase.
• Handle, lift, carry, load and unload purchased goods safely and efficiently, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure purchased items are accounted for and ready for the next stage of the fulfilment process.
• Monitor product availability and report out-of-stock items, price discrepancies or unsuitable product alternatives to the relevant team for further action.
• Maintain accurate purchase records and submit receipts and supporting documents for reconciliation and expense tracking.
• Ensure all assigned tasks are completed accurately and within the required timelines to support daily operational efficiency.
• Perform other operational duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall business operations of Borong Marketplace.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in supermarket operations, retail, merchandising, stock handling or order picking is an added advantage.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and carrying goods as required by the role.
• Responsible, detail-oriented and able to work independently.
• Able to work during normal office hours, without shift rotation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
