SENIOR SPECIALIST / SPECIALIST MARINE & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY SECTION, UNIKL MIMET

KEY ROLES :

• Plan, develop, and deliver teaching and learning activities in accordance with the programme syllabus, ensuring effective delivery of both theoretical and practical components.
• Educate and develop industry-ready graduates in alignment with Universiti Kuala Lumpur’s aspirations and standards, with an emphasis on industry relevance and professional competency.
• Conduct research and consultancy activities in strategic and relevant areas to strengthen the programme’s academic profile and contribute to the University’s growth.
• Produce academic publications, technical reports, and other scholarly outputs to support continuous improvement, enhance the Section’s academic standing, strengthen the University’s visibility and ranking, and contribute to revenue generation.

REQUIREMENTS :

• Master’s Degree / Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a Certificate of Competency as an Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) issued by the Marine Department of Malaysia.
• Minimum of 5 – 10 years of working experience onboard ships or in a related maritime field.
• Relevant industrial experience in shipboard electrical systems and operations.
• Prior teaching experience in Ship Electrical Systems, Automation Systems, Marine Auxiliary Equipment, Maritime Safety Regulations, and competencies aligned with the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW).
• Possession of IMO certifications, such as IMO Model Courses 6.09 and 3.12, or registration as a Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), will be considered an added advantage.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic research, high-quality teaching and learning, and fostering a positive and engaging educational environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
