Role Description This contract Database Administrator role is an on-site position based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The Database Administrator will manage and maintain database systems, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and performance tuning. Daily activities include handling backup and recovery, managing user access and security, troubleshooting database issues, and ensuring high availability and data integrity. The role involves working with development and infrastructure teams to support database design changes, optimize queries, and implement replication strategies. The Database Administrator will also document procedures, follow established governance and compliance standards, and support scheduled maintenance and upgrades.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Database Administration and Databases to manage, secure, and optimize production environments.
• Candidates should possess skills in Database Design to structure schemas, indexes, and relationships for performance and scalability.
• Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve database performance, availability, and configuration issues.
• Candidates should possess skills in Replication to implement and maintain data redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience with common relational database systems (such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL) is beneficial.
• Knowledge of backup strategies, security best practices, and monitoring tools is beneficial.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and work independently on-site is beneficial.
• A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is beneficial.

Job Overview:

• At least 3 years’ experience with db at enterprise level.
• Minimum qualifications at least a degree.
• Certs in db is prefer but not necessarily. Most important experience.
• Well versed with oracle, MySQL, MSSQL, postgresql, etc.
• Able to work independently.
