We are seeking an experienced and dedicated academic to join our academic team as a Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Education. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching and learning, research, curriculum development, student supervision and professional engagement in the field of Early Childhood Education and related areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials and other teaching and learning activities in Early Childhood Education and related areas at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Develop, review and enhance curriculum, course content, teaching materials and assessments in line with academic standards and current developments in early childhood education.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects, research, dissertations and/or theses, where applicable.
• Conduct research and contribute to publications, conferences, research grants and other scholarly activities in Early Childhood Education and related fields.
• Participate in programme development, programme review, accreditation, academic quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
• Provide academic guidance, consultation and mentoring to students.
• Support and supervise students in practicum, teaching placements and other experiential learning activities, where applicable.
• Incorporate contemporary approaches to early childhood pedagogy, child development and inclusive education into teaching and learning.
• Establish and maintain engagement with preschools, early childhood education providers, professional bodies, government agencies, community organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
• Contribute to professional development, community engagement and collaborative initiatives within the early childhood education sector.
• Participate in departmental, faculty and institutional committees, meetings, events and other academic activities.
• Perform other academic and administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Department/Dean.

Requirements

• Possess a PhD or Doctoral Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a closely related field from a recognised institution.
• Possess relevant teaching experience at tertiary level, preferably in Early Childhood Education or a related education discipline.
• Demonstrate a strong track record in research, publications and scholarly activities.
• Experience in supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate research projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary theories, practices and developments in early childhood education and child development.
• Experience in curriculum development, programme review, accreditation and academic quality assurance will be an added advantage.
• Relevant professional experience in early childhood education settings, such as preschools, kindergartens, childcare centres or other educational environments, will be an added advantage.
• Experience in practicum supervision and engagement with early childhood education providers will be an added advantage.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Pay: From RM4,000.00 per month
