Key Responsibilities:
Lesson Preparation:
Prepare, portion, and distribute food ingredients before the daily commencement of student practical lessons.
Supply & Inventory Logistics:
Assist with weekly food ingredient orders, receive deliveries from vendors, and verify that the items match the ordered quality, quantity, and technical specifications.
Stock Control & Safety:
Ensure all food ingredients are correctly labeled, stored, and rotated (FIFO) in adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations, monitoring optimal storage temperatures.
Inventory Auditing:
Perform regular physical checks on food ingredients, cooking utensils, kitchen appliances, and generic supplies across the NFS Special Rooms (Kitchens, NFS Office, and NFS Investigation Hub).
Maintenance Reporting:
Inspect kitchen equipment regularly and promptly report any damages or technical defects to the teacher-in-charge.
Hygiene & General Cleaning:
Maintain the sanitation, housekeeping, and safety of workstations. Conduct basic cleaning routines every Friday and deep-cleaning operations during the June and September school holiday periods.
Administrative Support:
Execute basic administrative tasks and paperwork to assist teachers with classroom preparation.
Job Requirements
Experience:
Minimally 1 year of hands-on working experience in school kitchens, institutional environments, or commercial food establishments.
Education:
A pass in PSLE is required to ensure effective communication with students, food logistics vendors, and maintenance technicians.
Skills & Certifications:
Strong baseline knowledge in kitchen safety and safe food handling protocols.Possession of a recognized certification is highly preferred (e.g., WSQ Food Hygiene Course / Food Safety Course Level 1 by ITE/SHATEC).
Attributes:
Organised, possess sound time-management skills, works well in dynamic environments, and coordinates seamlessly as a collaborative team player.
Working Hours & Conditions
Mondays to Thursdays:
7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break).
Fridays:
7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break).
Rest Days:
Off on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted Public Holidays.
Note: Occasional requests to extend working hours based on school event requirements will be compensated with time-off-in-lieu.
