About Arki

Arki is building an AI-enabled digital wealth platform for the mass affluent.

We help clients make better financial decisions across cash management, income generation and long-term wealth building. Our ambition is to combine institutional-quality investment thinking, intuitive digital experiences and personalised guidance in a way that is accessible to a broader group of investors.

As Arki enters its next stage of growth, we are strengthening our UI/UX design capability to improve how clients discover, understand and use our platform.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer to lead the user experience and interface design of Arki’s digital wealth platform across mobile and web.

You will work directly with the CEO, who leads product vision and strategy, to turn product requirements, customer needs and investment concepts into clear, intuitive and visually polished experiences.

You will own the craft of design end to end: user research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, usability testing and design handoff. You will also own and evolve Arki’s design system.

You will be the only designer at Arki. You will set the standard for UI/UX quality, make design decisions independently day to day, and help lay the foundation for a stronger design capability in Malaysia over time.

Key Responsibilities

User Research and UX Strategy

  • Plan and conduct customer interviews, usability tests and stakeholder discussions.
  • Identify user pain points across onboarding, funding, investing, portfolio monitoring and ongoing engagement.
  • Use qualitative feedback and product analytics to inform design decisions.
  • Translate research findings into personas, user journeys, problem statements and clear design recommendations.
  • Challenge assumptions about user behaviour and validate design direction before high-fidelity work begins.

Interaction Design and Information Architecture

  • Define information architecture, navigation and content hierarchy across Arki’s mobile and web experiences.
  • Create user flows, task flows, wireframes and interactive prototypes.
  • Design clear interactions for complex financial tasks, including risk profiling, funding, order placement and portfolio reporting.
  • Simplify investment concepts without losing important information, accuracy or regulatory context.
  • Design for edge cases, empty, loading and error states, and responsive behaviour.
  • Design for different levels of financial knowledge and stages of the investment journey.

Visual and Interface Design

  • Produce high-fidelity, pixel-accurate interface designs for mobile (iOS and Android) and web.
  • Define and apply Arki’s visual language, including typography, colour, iconography, layout, data visualisation and motion.
  • Design clear, trustworthy presentation of financial data, such as charts, returns, fees and portfolio breakdowns.
  • Ensure designs meet accessibility standards.
  • Ensure visual and interaction consistency across Arki’s cash, income and growth solutions.

Design System

  • Own, build and maintain Arki’s design system in Figma.
  • Establish reusable components, interaction patterns, design tokens and usage guidelines.
  • Work with engineering to keep the design system aligned with the coded component library.
  • Improve consistency across mobile, web and internal interfaces, and reduce duplicated design and development effort.

Design Handoff and Implementation Quality

  • Prepare clear design specifications, annotations, redlines and interaction documentation for engineering.
  • Work closely with engineers throughout development so designs are understood and built accurately.
  • Resolve design questions during development without waiting for repeated direction.
  • Conduct design QA on builds and live releases, and log gaps between intended and delivered experience.
  • Review post-launch usability and analytics, and recommend design improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with the CEO to turn product priorities into clear user journeys and interfaces.
  • Partner with engineering throughout design and delivery.
  • Work with investment and compliance teams so content, disclosures and in-app communications are accurate and appropriate.
  • Support marketing on conversion-focused flows, and use client service feedback to find recurring usability issues.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first six months, the Senior UI/UX Designer should:

  • Build a clear understanding of Arki’s clients, products and key user journeys.
  • Complete an end-to-end UX audit and heuristic review of the existing mobile and web experience.
  • Establish a prioritised UI/UX improvement roadmap, agreed with the CEO.
  • Deliver a documented first version of Arki’s design system, adopted by engineering.
  • Introduce a consistent, lightweight process for user research and usability testing.
  • Establish a reliable design handoff and design QA process with engineering.
  • Redesign at least one key customer journey, such as onboarding, funding or repeat investment.
  • Reduce the CEO’s involvement in routine design decisions and design follow-up.

Over time, success will be measured by outcomes such as:

  • Higher task completion and usability-test success rates
  • Improved onboarding and funding conversion
  • Fewer UX-related support enquiries and less customer confusion
  • Greater visual and interaction consistency across the platform
  • Faster design-to-development delivery with fewer implementation defects
  • Reduced dependency on the CEO for detailed design execution

What make you a good fit?

  • 6–10 years of UI/UX design experience on digital products.
  • A strong portfolio of shipped mobile and web products, showing both UX process and high-quality visual design.
  • Demonstrated experience designing complex, data-heavy or transactional user flows.
  • Hands-on experience planning and running user research and usability testing.
  • Expert proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto layout and interactive prototyping.
  • Strong understanding of mobile-first design and iOS and Android platform conventions.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design.
  • Experience collaborating closely with software engineers through implementation and design QA.
  • Comfortable being the only designer in the company, with no design peer or manager to review work day to day.
  • Strong written and spoken English.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in fintech, digital banking, wealth management, brokerage, insurance or payments.
  • Experience designing regulated financial products, including disclosures and consent flows.
  • Familiarity with investment journeys, portfolio reporting, risk profiling or financial data visualisation.
  • Experience building a design system with design tokens.
  • Experience using product analytics to guide design decisions.

Skills and Attributes

We are looking for strong design craft and attention to detail; empathy grounded in user evidence; the ability to simplify financial concepts without making them misleading; systems thinking; ownership through delivery; constructive challenge; clear communication of design rationale; and comfort with ambiguity.

Why Join Arki

Shape the user experience, visual identity and design system of an early-stage wealth platform from the ground up. You will work directly with the founding team and have significant ownership.
