Senior Product Designer

Contract Duration: 12-Month Contract, Extendable

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer for a 12-month contract to lead product discovery and shape product direction for a government project in Singapore.

This is a product-focused role that goes beyond traditional UI/UX design and execution. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary product squad, collaborating with product managers, engineers, operations officers and policy stakeholders across multiple divisions.

The role requires a strong product mindset, independent research capabilities and the confidence to challenge assumptions and reframe problems before moving towards solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead independent product discovery research beyond usability testing to identify user needs, underlying challenges and opportunities.
• Define, frame and validate problems before developing potential solutions.
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions and alignment across multiple divisions, including operations, policy, engineering and product management.
• Translate research findings into actionable insights that inform product strategy and direction.
• Analyse complex interactions between people, systems and processes, breaking them down into clear, solvable problems.
• Collaborate with operations officers and policy stakeholders to understand operational requirements and policy considerations.
• Challenge existing assumptions and predefined briefs to ensure the team focuses on solving the right problems.
• Work closely with the product squad to drive informed, research-led product decisions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Product Designer with a strong product mindset and strategic problem-solving capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience leading independent product discovery and research beyond usability testing.
• Ability to identify underlying problems, challenge assumptions and define opportunities before solution design.
• Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with experience working across multiple divisions.
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to simplify complex human, system and process interactions.
• Confidence in influencing product direction and constructively challenging stakeholders.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary product teams alongside product managers, engineers and other stakeholders.
• Based in Singapore and available for a 12-month contract.

The ideal candidate is a senior-level Product Designer who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, conducting independent discovery and influencing product decisions. They should be able to uncover underlying problems, align diverse stakeholders and shape product solutions based on evidence and research.
