Hiring: Role: Azure Infrastructure & Data Engineer


We are currently partnering with a top-tier Global Financial Data & Market Intelligence Enterprise to expand their high-performing technology hub in Penang, Malaysia.


If you are a hands-on cloud specialist with dual expertise in Azure Cloud Infrastructure (IaC) and Data Platform Engineering, we want to connect with you. You will play a critical role in transitioning data pipelines from legacy systems into a modern cloud environment.


Position Summary

  • Role: Azure Infrastructure & Data Engineer
  • Location: Penang, Malaysia (George Town)
  • Experience: 3+ Years of hands-on experience
  • Work Setup: Hybrid (2x/week onsite) - 4x per week onsite during probationary
  • Work Eligibility: Malaysian Citizens, MyPR Holders, or RP-T Holders (No visa sponsorship available)


Key Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Engineering: Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and data solutions using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Fabric, ADLS, and Azure Synapse.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and operate secure Azure Landing Zones aligned with enterprise governance.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Build scalable infrastructure utilizing Terraform or Bicep.
  • Modernization Delivery: Actively execute the migration of legacy/Excel-based financial processes into modern cloud-native Azure solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work autonomously as a core data engineering SME alongside an 8-person regional team and collaborate closely with UK/US stakeholders.


Candidate Profile

  • 3+ years of core hands-on experience across Azure Infrastructure and Data platform engineering.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in building pipelines with Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL, and ideally Microsoft Fabric or Synapse.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep) and setting up Azure networking/security baselines.
  • Strong English communication skills, comfortable aligning with global teams during evening overlap hours.
  • Bonus Skills: Exposure to AI/ML workloads, Databricks, or PySpark.
