Location: Taman Sri Putri, Skudai, Johor Bahru, Johor

Salary: RM 5,000 – RM 7,000 per month (Commensurate with experience)

Working Hours: 9am - 6pm (5-Day Workweek)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Accounts Officer to oversee our Accounts Receivable (AR) operations and assist with General Ledger (GL) and financial reporting tasks. In this role, you will lead a team, manage credit control and month-end closing processes, and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Supervision:
• Lead and oversee the Accounts Receivable (AR) department.
• Supervise, guide, and review the daily work of AR team members.
• Accounts Receivable & Credit Control:
• Manage customer invoicing, receipt allocation, and credit control procedures.
• Review AR ageing reports regularly to ensure timely collection of overdue accounts.
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing or payment discrepancies efficiently.
• Financial Reporting & GL Management:
• Prepare and analyze AR, GL, and monthly management reports.
• Handle month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and GL reconciliations.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Compliance & Stakeholder Coordination:
• Liaise with external customers, auditors, and internal departments as necessary.
• Ensure full compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.
• Knowledge of local corporate tax matters is preferred.
• Perform daily ad-hoc accounting duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience handling AR, GL, and financial reporting functions.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems/ERP software.
• Strong financial analysis, report writing, credit control, and problem-solving skills.
• Prior experience in external or internal audit is a strong added advantage.
• Knowledge of local corporate tax regulations is preferred.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven track record in teamwork and team management.
