The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Associate on a 12-month contract at the Psychology and Child & Human Development Department.

Project Title: Building Human Capacity in Singapore’s Population: A National Longitudinal Study of Child and Maternal Well-being

Project Introduction: This project examines the role of parents in children’s transition from preschool to primary school.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree from a reputable institution specialising in psychology or a related field.

• Good knowledge of child development theories and research.

• Prior experience with working with parents and children is highly preferred.

• Strong communication and organizational skills; being able to be an effective liaison person for contacting families and preschools, and to lead and train a team of student assistants in fieldwork and data collection.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out participant recruitment for the project.

• Manage the data collection schedule for the research team.

• Participate in the training of student research assistants.

• Carry out fieldwork, data coding, and analysis.

• Participate in manuscript preparation and dissemination of study findings.

• Other responsibilities related to project management.
