Overview

Our client, is a Singaporean company with an investment bank licensed in Labuan.

Candidate Requirements

• Approximately 10–12 years of legal experience.
• Preferably a combination of in-house and law firm experience.
• Strong corporate and commercial legal background.
• Commercially savvy, practical and able to work independently.
• Tech-savvy candidates preferred.
• Open to candidates from law firms with private equity (PE) experience, although second preference.
• Investment banking or Labuan regulatory experience is an advantage, but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide corporate and commercial legal advice to management.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts.
• Handle corporate governance and legal risk matters.
• Support regulatory matters alongside Compliance and Risk teams.
• Manage disputes and coordinate with external lawyers.
• Oversee external counsel for specialised matters, including complex M&A and investment banking transactions.

Ideal Candidate: A commercially minded senior corporate/commercial lawyer, preferably with in-house experience, who can independently manage the bank's day-to-day legal matters while engaging external counsel for specialised transactions.
