Job Description

The Senior Cloud Engineer (Google Cloud Platform) will lead the design, implementation, deployment, automation and maintenance of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The role requires strong technical expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, security, Kubernetes and DevOps practices. The successful candidate will also oversee cloud operations, service delivery, incident management and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role involves working closely with application stakeholders, project leadership, senior management and delivery teams to ensure reliable service delivery, operational efficiency and alignment with business and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture and Engineering

• Lead the design, development, deployment and maintenance of scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform.

• Implement and manage cloud infrastructure using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Config Connector (KCC), Cloud Build and other GCP services.

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, Pulumi and other automation tools.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines, cloud automation and deployment processes to improve operational efficiency.

• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.

Cloud Operations and Service Delivery

• Oversee cloud infrastructure operations, maintenance and service delivery to meet contractual and operational requirements.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Digital Transformation, Operations and Maintenance, and application delivery.

• Manage technical escalations, incidents and service-related issues, ensuring timely resolution.

• Monitor service performance and ensure Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports are delivered accurately and on time.

• Prepare project status reports, meeting minutes and action items for project management and client review meetings.

• Maintain end-to-end accountability for service delivery and operational performance.

Stakeholder and Project Management

• Lead collaboration between application stakeholders, senior management, project leadership and technical delivery teams.

• Establish priorities and ensure alignment between operational activities and project objectives.

• Act as the focal point for technical escalations and service-related communications with clients.

• Identify opportunities to improve service quality, processes and operational performance.

• Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, issues and improvement initiatives to senior management.

Business Development and Team Leadership

• Identify opportunities to expand or improve existing services in collaboration with account management teams.

• Build and maintain industry partnerships and developer communities.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project and application teams.

• Promote effective teamwork, collaboration and knowledge sharing.

• Ensure project deliverables meet customer expectations and agreed service standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, cloud architecture or IT infrastructure management.

• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Strong hands-on experience with the following technologies:

  • Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

  • Google Cloud Config Connector (KCC).

  • Google Cloud Build and CI/CD technologies.

  • Google Cloud Deployment Manager.

  • Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Pulumi.

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Python and Shell scripting.

• Must possess at least one Professional-level Google Cloud certification, such as:

  • Professional Cloud Architect.

  • Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.

  • Professional Cloud Developer.

  • Other relevant Professional-level Google Cloud certifications.

• Proven experience designing, implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.

• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, Kubernetes, containerization, DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.

• Experience in cloud infrastructure operations, monitoring, troubleshooting and incident management.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to manage complex technical challenges and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
