Role Description The Mechanical Engineer role at EKG M&E Sdn Bhd is a full-time, on-site position based in Kuala Lumpur. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and optimizing mechanical systems for ACMV, fire protection, and plumbing projects, ensuring compliance with local codes and industry standards. Daily tasks include preparing and updating CAD drawings, supporting tenders and technical proposals, coordinating with project managers, contractors, and suppliers, and conducting site inspections to monitor installation quality and resolve technical issues. The role also involves participating in equipment selection, performing basic calculations and system sizing, supporting refurbishment and upgrading works, and providing technical input for service and maintenance activities. The Mechanical Engineer is expected to collaborate across disciplines to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering knowledge, including fundamentals of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and HVAC or MEP systems.
• Candidates should possess skills in Machine Design and practical application of mechanical components in building services or industrial systems.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating and modifying mechanical drawings and layouts.
• Candidates should possess Project Management capabilities, including planning, coordination, scheduling, and documentation for engineering projects.
• Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D) abilities to evaluate new technologies, improve system performance, and support innovative engineering solutions.
• Relevant qualifications such as a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Good knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards related to ACMV, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
• Effective communication skills, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and readiness to attend site meetings and inspections.
• Experience in MEP or building services engineering, and familiarity with design-to-installation workflows, is an advantage.
