Objective
The Manager, Philanthropy & Strategic Partnerships is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure long-term philanthropic income and strategic partnerships that advance SAAC's mission and strategic priorities. The role will cultivate, steward and grow relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, family offices, key corporate partners to build sustainable funding and long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Philanthropy & Major Giving
- Develop and deliver annual/multi-year fundraising strategies, aligned with SAAC’s strategic priorities, to sustainably and consistently achieve revenue targets.
- Own a portfolio of major donors, foundations, family offices and philanthropic partners, leading the full cycle from identification and cultivation to solicitation, to grow average gift size, secure multi-year commitments and broaden the donor base.
- Lead the development of compelling proposals, concept papers and impact reports to secure more grants and funding.
- Support leadership and Board members in donor engagement and fundraising opportunities.
Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and develop partnerships with key corporations, foundations, community organisations and institutions to create value beyond funding, including but not limited to – volunteerism, advocacy, skills-based support and programme collaborations.
- Negotiate and manage partnership and sponsorship agreements that address the organisational and community needs, ensuring deliverables are met.
Donor Stewardship & Relationship Management
- Lead donor stewardship by designing engagement plans with meaningful touchpoints throughout the year and ensuring timely acknowledgements and impact reporting, to lift donor retention and donation levels.
- Set standards for and oversee accurate donor records and relationship management in the CRM, to give the team reliable, insightful, and actionable data for strategic direction.
Strategy & Performance
- Track fundraising performance against targets and key performance indicators, and analyse donor and giving trends, to flag risks early and refine strategies that improve retention and giving levels.
- Prepare reports and insights for management and Board committees, and contribute to departmental planning, budgeting and organisational initiatives, to support informed decisions and sound allocation of resources.
- Monitor philanthropic trends and the funding landscape, to identify and act on emerging opportunities that open new funding streams.
Prospective candidates should have:
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Social Sciences or related disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, philanthropy, business development, partnerships or relationship management.
- Proven experience managing donor, corporate or stakeholder relationships, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders, donors and corporate leaders confidently.
- Strong proposal writing, presentation and communication skills.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Passion for the social service sector and improving outcomes for persons with autism.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the social service, healthcare, education or non-profit sector.
- Familiarity with major gifts, grant fundraising and corporate partnerships.
- Experience using CRM or donor management systems.
