IGCSE Computer Science Teacher

Job Description

Columbia International School is seeking a qualified, dedicated, and passionate IGCSE Computer Science Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in accordance with the Cambridge International curriculum while maintaining high academic and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science syllabus.
  • Teach programming, algorithms, computer systems, networks, and computational thinking.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments, and examination papers.
  • Monitor student progress and provide academic support where necessary.
  • Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE examinations.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.
  • Complete academic documentation, marking, and administrative tasks within stipulated deadlines.
  • Participate in school activities, meetings, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science (0478) is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of programming (preferably Python), algorithms, and computer systems.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong classroom management, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a structured school environment.
  • Responsible, committed, and passionate about teaching.
