Fire Sector Manager (Facilities Operations) – Public Sector Industry

Islandwide (Multiple sides to manage)

2years contract (Renewable)

5days’ work week - 8am to 5.30pm

Job Responsibilities

·        Be our appointed Senior Fire Safety Manager (SFSM) for our client. Own fire safety across the site and keep us fully compliant with SCDF requirements and the Fire Safety Act.

·        Drive fire safety readiness. Manage Fire Certificate renewals, fire risk assessments, safety audits and emergency drills.

·        Get to the root of issues. Lead investigations into fire incidents, false alarms and fire protection system failures, then put lasting corrective actions in place.

·        Represent us with the Authorities. Serve as the main point of contact for SCDF and other regulators on fire safety and compliance matters.

·        Keep operations running smoothly. Support daily facilities operations, manage contractor performance, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance.

·        Plan for the long term. Review maintenance reports, technical submissions and system conditions, and shape lifecycle and obsolescence plans for fire protection assets.

·        Coordinate key milestones. Manage statutory inspections, certifications, operational mobilization and asset handovers.

·        Take charge when it matters most. Lead emergency response for critical incidents such as fires, power outages, flooding and ACMV failures.

·        Turn incidents into insight. Prepare incident reports, recovery plans, RCA reports and clear updates for management.

·        Lead audit readiness. Support Authority audits and inspections and make sure findings are closed out promptly.

Job Requirements

·        Current SFSM registration with SCDF. This is required for the role.

·        A diploma or higher in Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services or a related field.

·        At least 5 years of facilities management experience.

·        A track record with complex fire safety systems in large institutional, industrial or government facilities.

·        Deep knowledge of the fire safety landscape, including regulations, statutory compliance, emergency response and facilities operations.

·        Strong communication and stakeholder skills. You can coordinate contractors and work confidently with Authority representatives.
