a) Roles
To perform onsite blasting, surface preparation, coating, and painting touch-up activities in accordance with approved work instructions, project specifications, customer requirements, and applicable safety and quality standards.
b) Responsibilities
- Perform onsite blasting, surface preparation, coating, and painting touch-up activities according to approved work instructions and project requirements.
- Inspect blasting equipment, pressure vessels, hoses, valves, and related tools before use to ensure they are in safe and proper working condition.
- Follow the required procedures for depressurising blasting equipment and releasing residual pressure before carrying out maintenance, adjustments, or other applicable activities.
- Ensure the correct blasting media, coating materials, and painting equipment are selected and used according to project specifications.
- Verify paint and coating materials before use, including product identification, batch details, expiry dates, and other applicable requirements.
- Follow the specified coating application procedures, including surface preparation, coating thickness requirements, and curing conditions, where applicable.
- Record and maintain required environmental and process parameters, including temperature and humidity readings, in accordance with applicable work instructions.
- Inspect completed work to ensure the required workmanship and coating quality are achieved, and report any defects or non-conformities to the Production Leader.
- Maintain the cleanliness and housekeeping of the work area and ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly stored after use.
- Report damaged equipment, defective tools, expired materials, unsafe conditions, and other abnormalities to the Production Leader or immediate supervisor.
- Assist the Production Leader and team members in daily production activities, on-the-job training, and implementation of approved work instructions, where required.
- Comply with company policies, occupational safety and health requirements, and applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements when performing assigned tasks.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance work quality, productivity, equipment utilisation, and workplace safety.
- Perform other duties reasonably assigned by the immediate supervisor that are relevant to the position and operational requirements.
c) Authorities
- Stop work and immediately report any unsafe condition that may pose a risk to personnel, equipment, or product quality.
- Report non-conforming work, defective equipment, and unsuitable materials to the Production Leader for further assessment and corrective action.
- Request the necessary tools, equipment, and materials required to perform assigned tasks safely and effectively, subject to company procedures.
d) Education & Experience
Education
- Minimum SPM, Secondary School Certificate, or equivalent qualification.
- Technical or vocational training in blasting, painting, coating, or surface preparation is an advantage.
Experience
- Preferably 1–2 years of hands-on experience in blasting, painting, coating, or surface preparation within a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment.
- Fresh candidates with relevant technical training and a willingness to learn may also be considered.
- Basic knowledge of blasting equipment, painting tools, coating materials, and safe work practices.
- Ability to follow work instructions, project specifications, and quality requirements.
- Ability to complete basic production records, inspection checklists, and environmental monitoring records.
- Good teamwork, discipline, attention to detail, and willingness to perform hands-on operational duties.
Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
