Job Purpose
We are seeking a technically capable and customer-focused Electrical & Automation Engineer to design, develop, test, commission, and support electrical and control systems for industrial water and process-treatment plants.
The role will cover the complete project life cycle—from technical clarification and proposal support through detailed design, panel production, factory testing, site commissioning, troubleshooting, and handover. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, process engineers, production teams, suppliers, customers, and service personnel to deliver safe, reliable, energy-efficient, and maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical engineering
1. Develop electrical concepts, single-line diagrams, control philosophies, load schedules, cable schedules, and control-panel designs.
2. Review customer specifications, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and electrical requirements.
3. Review supplier drawings, technical submittals, and panel fabrication documents.
4. Support electrical calculations, equipment sizing, cable selection, earthing, short-circuit considerations, and protection coordination where required.
Automation and controls
1. Develop control philosophies, functional descriptions, cause-and-effect matrices, I/O lists, alarm schedules, and sequence-of-operation documents.
2. Design and program PLC, HMI, SCADA, telemetry, remote-monitoring, and industrial communication systems.
3. Develop software using platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley, or other relevant systems.

Configure and integrate VFDs, motor starters, remote I/O, flowmeters, pressure transmitters, level instruments, analysers, valves, and packaged equipment
.
5. Prepare project documentation, including technical submittals, inspection and test plans, FAT procedures, SAT procedures, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings.
6. Carry out site installation supervision, commissioning, functional testing, and performance testing.
7. Diagnose electrical, instrumentation, PLC, HMI, VFD, network, and control-system issues during commissioning.
8. Assist in operator training
9. Prepare commissioning records, punch lists, validation reports, test results, and final handover documentation.
10. Provide remote and on-sitetechnical support after project completion.
PreferredEducation
Higher technicaleducation, preferably a degree in electrical engineering or a relateddiscipline.
Required CriticalKnowledge and Experience
Experiencereading and preparing electrical drawings, P&IDs, control schematics,wiring diagrams (EPLAN), and equipment datasheets.
Practicalexperience with Siemens PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFD, instrumentation, control panels,and industrial communication systems.
Enjoys workingwith colleagues in an international environment set up and willingness totravel for project execution and commissioning (Our customers are 99%overseas!).
Experience withwater treatment, wastewater, manufacturing, utilities, food and beverage, orother process industries will be advantageous.
Ability totroubleshoot electrical and automation systems methodically under time andoperational pressure.
Possess a can-dospirit to carry out duties assigned independently and with commitment
