Responsibilities

• Development of Instrument and Control portion of P&IDs, Instrument Index
• Preparations and review of Instrumentation Detailed Design deliverables
• Perform Instrument sizing calculations (Control Valves, Relief Valves, Flow Elements, and Thermowell vibration calculations.
• Review of the 3D model and 2D drawings,
• Participation in 30%, 60%, 90% model design review sessions
• Functional design of the Process Control Logic and Safety logic (defining requirements)
• Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review
• Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Mechanical & Static related engineering deliverables developed by sub-contractors and vendor ensuring design optimization in compliance with relevant codes, standards and best practices
• Review vendor drawings, ensuring that all project requirements are met
• Preparations and review of Material Requisitions packages and TBEs.
• Provide technical support to the Procurement Department during the procurement process, including technical clarifications and vendor evaluations.
• Preparation of technical proposals in response for Clients RfQ
• Participate and contribute in various workshops e.g. Design reviews, HAZOP, SIL etc.
• Ensure the required technical quality, integrity, and consistency of all Instrumentation engineering work.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Instrumentation Engineers and other discipline personnel, as required.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure effective interfaces and timely resolution of interdisciplinary issues
• Acting as Company representative in front of Clients and Vendors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
• Minimum 15-18 years’ experience in offshore and onshore Oil & Gas Industry of which majority in design consultancy
• Strong knowledge and practical application of relevant industry Codes and Standards (including NFPA70, API, ISA, IEC, IEEE, ASME) for or Instrumentation and control systems.

Required Skills

• Experience as a Senior/Principal Instrument engineer on mid to large size project ($************* Million)
• Experienced with DCS, ESD and Fire & Gas Systems
• Competent in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation.
• Competent in the use of design and assessment methods used within discipline.
• Up-to-date working knowledge of Control Systems (DCS, SIS, etc.) and Field Instrumentation.
• Experienced in In-line Instruments, Off-line Instruments, Analyzers, Metering packages etc.
• Experienced in an offshore skid/modular design of process oil&gas packages (GDUs, Desalter etc. and similar process equipment)
• Familiar with SIL and experienced in Safety Systems
• Familiar with Telecom Systems such as CCTV, PAGA, Access Control, PABX & Telephone, Fiber Optic Cables, Internet Data Services, Audio/Video Entertainment is preferable
• Experienced in Instrumentation and Telecom Installation Design
• Poses good interpersonal and communication skills with sound English written and oral communication skills.
• Aware of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering.
