JOB SUMMARY

The Solution Engineer is responsible for delivering end-to-end mechanical and electrical (M&E) design solutions for projects of varying scale under Design & Build (D&B) delivery frameworks. The role focuses on the development of compliant, resilient, and scalable Data Centre infrastructure designs in accordance with client standards, international and local codes, and regulatory requirements.

In addition to design responsibilities, the Solution Engineer provides build-related support strictly at tender and bid stages, including the preparation of technical proposals, tender documentation, cost estimates, and value engineering options. The role works closely with sales, project and technical teams to support pre-sales activities, RFP responses, and bid submissions, without involvement in construction execution or post-award project delivery.

RESPONSIBILITY & AUTHORITY:

DESIGN SCOPE

1. To design Mechanical & Electrical (M&E), ELV, and monitoring systems for Data Centres of various scale under Design & Build delivery frameworks, covering white space, M&E plant areas, and ancillary facilities.

2. Perform engineering calculations, system sizing, redundancy topology selection, and capacity planning in compliance with:

2.1. Client’s technical standards and Requirements

2.2. Data Centre Site Infrastructure Tier Standards

2.3. International and local M&E codes and standards

2.4. Local Authority requirements and statutory guidelines.

3. Develop design deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, design narratives, and technical reports.

4. Produce design drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, layouts, and design narratives using CAD/BIM and engineering analysis tools.

5. Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces (M&E, ELV, architectural, civil, fire protection, and IT) to ensure design integration and constructability.

6. Provide pre-sales technical support, including:

6.1. Site surveys and feasibility assessments

6.2. Technical meetings and Presentation with clients

BUILD SCOPE (TENDERING & BID SUPPORT ONLY)

7. Prepare tender-stage build documentation for Design & Build projects, with the Build scope strictly limited to tendering and bid support activities, including:

7.1. Technical specifications and scope descriptions

7.2. Tender drawings and schedules

7.3. Bills of quantities, cost breakdowns, and pricing assumptions

7.4. Technical clarifications and compliance matrices.

8. Provide bid-stage technical support, including:

8.1. Site surveys and feasibility assessments

8.2. Technical meetings with clients, consultants, and authorities

8.3. Value engineering proposals and alternative solutions to optimize tender competitiveness.

8.4. Risk/opportunity identification and assessments

9. Develop and deliver technical proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, bid submissions and presentations for Data Centre projects.

10. Support cost estimation and commercial evaluation for tenders and enquiries, ensuring alignment between design intent, risk allocation and pricing strategy.

11. Coordinate closely with sales, project and technical teams to ensure design compliance, tender readiness, and bid accuracy.

MARKETING SCOPE

12. Contribute to marketing and technical materials related to Data Centre Design & Build solutions for Marketing Events.

13. Deliver product solution presentations related to Data Centre Design & Build solutions for Marketing Events.

SUPERVISION:

Receives general supervision from the Team Lead Solution Engineer

REQUIREMENT:

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in related field (fresh graduate is welcome)
• Basic understanding of mechanical/electrical design & calculations
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel / Word / Powerpoint
• Proficient in Engineering Tools such as DIALux, ETAP, Carrier E20 and etc
• Proficient in Microsoft Project to produce Project Timeline or Gantt Chart
• Experience in Data Centre Projects

The products or solutions will be such as below.

• Critical power (UPS system, AVC and etc) and cooling (Precision Air Cond and In Row Air Cond) for data center and production.
• Early warning smoke detection system for industrial environment such cleanroom, warehouse, hospital, airport and etc.
• Fire suppression system such as FM-200 system / Novec 1230.
• Water leak detection system.
• Environmental monitoring system.
• Rack and PDU.
• Structure cabling system.
• Security access and CCTV system.
• Renewable Energy such as Solar system, EV charger and etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
