JOB PURPOSE
To manage and monitor occupational safety and health at the workplace, support legal compliance, and promote safe working practices across the precast manufacturing plant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Advise management and employees on workplace safety and health requirements, safe work practices, and corrective measures.
• Conduct regular inspections of the plant, production areas, machinery, equipment, vehicles, tools, work processes, and worker facilities. Identify hazards and follow up on corrective actions.
• Review risk assessments, including HIRARC, and recommend suitable control measures for production, maintenance, lifting, loading, transport, and other work activities.
• Monitor safety risks specific to precast operations, including:

1. Batching and concrete production
2. Mould preparation, casting, curing, and demoulding
3. Lifting and handling of precast products
4. Crane, forklift, lorry, and mobile plant movements
5. Work at height, confined spaces, and maintenance activities
6. Cement and chemical handling, dust, noise, and manual handling

• Investigate accidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning, and occupational diseases. Identify causes, recommend preventive actions, and maintain incident records and statistics.
• Coordinate and support the Safety and Health Committee, including workplace inspections, meetings, minutes, action tracking, and safety programmes.
• Prepare and submit regular safety and health reports to management, including incidents, inspection findings, outstanding corrective actions, and recommendations.
• Deliver or coordinate safety inductions, toolbox briefings, emergency response training, and other relevant safety training.
• Monitor the use and condition of personal protective equipment (PPE) and advise on suitable PPE for different work activities.
• Monitor contractor and visitor safety, including site induction, work permits, and compliance with plant safety rules.
• Maintain safety and health documents, inspection checklists, training records, incident reports, risk assessments, and other relevant registers.
• Assist during inspections or inquiries by JKKP and other relevant authorities, and follow up on notices, findings, and required actions.
• Monitor compliance with applicable occupational safety and health laws, regulations, approved procedures, and company requirements.
• Carry out other workplace safety and health duties assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must hold a valid registration with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (JKKP/DOSH) to act as an SHO.
• Relevant qualification or training in Occupational Safety and Health.
• Experience in manufacturing, construction, precast, or a similar industrial environment is preferred.
• Able to conduct inspections, investigate incidents, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with employees and management.
• Able to work at the plant and production areas, including where operational conditions may involve noise, dust, heat, and moving machinery.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,800.00 per month
