Primary Job Purpose:
Support the Procurement Manager in sourcing, supplier coordination and procurement projects for the Pulau Indah facility. The additional role will provide dedicated support for quotations, new material development, supplier qualification and compliance follow-ups, while existing purchasing support continues with PO processing and documentation. This will strengthen supply continuity and allow more focused delivery of cost savings initiatives and supplier risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source raw materials, packaging, services and indirect items; obtain quotations and prepare quotation evaluations and commercial comparisons for approval. (QFA/RFQ)
- Support price and payment-term negotiations, alternative sourcing and cost-saving projects; track agreed actions and validated savings.
- Coordinate NPD and material trials with suppliers, QA, R&D, Planning and Operations; follow up samples, specifications, pricing, lead times and approvals.
- Coordinate new supplier and item applications and Supplier Change Requests; obtain supporting documents and follow up internal approvals.
- Maintain supplier qualification records, certifications and agreements; follow up Halal, food safety and other required documentation with QA.
- Coordinate supplier audits, performance reviews and corrective actions with QA; monitor open issues and escalate delays or supply risks.
- Support ESG sourcing projects including RSPO, Rainforest Alliance, cage-free eggs and FSC; obtain supplier commitments, availability and cost impacts.
- Follow up supplier delivery commitments and support import documentation and permit coordination under the Procurement Manager’s guidance.
- Maintain sourcing and project trackers and provide timely updates for budget, PPV and procurement reporting.

- Procurement Manager and purchasing support; APAC and central procurement teams as assigned.
- QA, R&D/NPD, Planning, Supply Chain, Store, Production, Operations and Maintenance.
- Finance, suppliers, manufacturers and logistics providers.
Critical Competencies:
- Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Business or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proposed requirement: at least 3 years of purchasing or sourcing experience, preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG.
- Good quotation evaluation, negotiation and supplier coordination skills; understanding of cost, lead time and supply risk.
- Competent in Excel and ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics GP experience is an advantage.
- Awareness of supplier qualification, Halal, food safety and ESG requirements.
- Clear communication, organised follow-up, sound judgement, integrity and ability to manage competing deadlines.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,800.00 per month
