About Connected

Connected is a content and technology company shaping culture through media. Our mission is to strengthen family relationships through discovery, understanding, and connection—one moment at a time.

Technology has profoundly altered family dynamics. It’s now easier than ever for parents and children to retreat into their own digital spaces, leading to fewer shared moments and weakening relationships. We believe relationships are built through moments, and our work focuses on designing media and digital experiences that bring people closer together.

We are not a traditional media company chasing trends, nor are we a non-profit. We intentionally design content that shapes culture—not just delivering what people already want, but guiding them toward meaningful engagement and connection.

This means our company culture is unique. We are looking for someone who aligns with our mission and creative direction—who sees content not just as entertainment, but as a tool for deeper discovery and connection.

About the role

We're looking for an imaginative, practical writer to create interactive stories for children aged 4–10.

Our Adventures combine illustrated storytelling, simple minigames and opportunities for parents and children to discover more about each other. Your job is to make those experiences engaging, age-appropriate and ready for production.

You'll work within CPS, collaborating with content specialists and the art team. Alongside writing, you'll help develop recurring characters and worlds that can grow into a larger creative IP under the CPS lead's direction.

How you'll grow

You'll receive close guidance initially. By the end of your six-month probation, we expect you to independently manage your Adventure content workflow, with your manager retaining direction-setting and final approval.

As you develop, you'll have opportunities to take greater creative ownership and build skills in interactive-content development and product strategy.

What you'll do

Turn briefs from our Technical Content Architecture (TCA) team into engaging parent-child stories.

Write story scripts, titles and clear gameplay instructions, adapting language and complexity to different ages.

Create art briefs covering story beats, scenes, character actions and required visual assets.

Develop consistent characters, voices and worlds under your team-lead's direction.

Suggest minigame concepts and explore their feasibility with your manager. Detailed game-design experience is not required.

Revise stories collaboratively while preserving their intended discovery purpose.

Support the Art Production Manager to assemble complete, checked content packages ready for upload.

Maintain clear documentation, communicate progress and flag dependencies or blockers early.

Contribute to CPS discussions and learn how storytelling connects with UIUX, art, video and product strategy.

What we're looking for

Around 1–3 years of relevant writing experience, with a strong portfolio. Published work is not required.

Requirement of a degree in communications, creative writing, English literature, or linguistics.

Excellent written English, including confident editing and proofreading.

Genuine interest in storytelling for children.

Ability to write visually and give collaborators clear, actionable briefs.

Imagination balanced with an understanding of practical production constraints.

Proactive communication, openness to feedback and reliable follow-through.

Curiosity about interactive experiences, character development and world-building.

Experience with comics, animation, children's content or game narratives is helpful. Sketching, storyboarding or visual-design skills are a bonus, not a requirement.

How to apply

Send your résumé and 2–4 selected writing samples:

At least one fiction or narrative sample.

Preferably one piece written for children or younger audiences.

If available, a storyboard, scene breakdown or visual-production brief.

Personal and unpublished work is welcome. Briefly explain each sample's intended audience and your contribution.

Pay: RM3,200.00 - RM4,500.00 per month

Benefits:

  • Maternity leave
  • Opportunities for promotion
  • Parental leave
  • Professional development
  • Work from home

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur)
