Executive, Underwriting (General Underwriting)

Job Purpose

• Develop and establish processing and administration standards and procedures of Underwriting & Risk Management unit
• Support and facilitate risk assessment, risk monitoring and risk improvement initiatives to strengthen underwriting controls and portfolio quality.
• Engage with front liners, including marketers and branches, on risk improvement, underwriting practices and related requirements.
• Prepare and analyse underwriting, operational and portfolio data to support management reporting, business monitoring and decision-making.
• Drive process improvement, automation and digitalisation initiatives to enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy and data quality.
• Support underwriting projects, SOP enhancement, training and cross-functional initiatives
• Carry out any other appropriate duties assigned by the Senior Management from time to time

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor recurring underwriting, operational, governance and management reports.
• Conduct data analysis, portfolio monitoring and benchmarking to support underwriting and management decision-making.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis for Senior Management and relevant stakeholders.
• Identify and implement automation, digitalisation and process improvement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and data quality.
• Review and enhance underwriting SOPs, processes, guidelines and controls, including LOFA and related governance activities.
• Support underwriting projects, training, knowledge-sharing and engagement with marketers, branches and other stakeholders.
• Carry out any other appropriate duties assigned by Senior Management from time to time.

Qualification & Requirement

• Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, Data Analytics, or related disciplines; diploma holders with relevant experience may be considered.
• Professional certification (CII, MII, AII, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• 1–2 years of experience in General Insurance/Takaful, underwriting, risk management, operations, or analytics.
• Knowledge of underwriting, reinsurance, regulatory, and Shariah requirements.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management capabilities.
