We’re Hiring: Veterinary Technician (Ward, Anaesthesia & Diagnostics Support)

We are looking for a responsible and organised Veterinary Technician to support our veterinary team with inpatient care, ward coordination, anaesthesia assistance and diagnostic procedures.

This role may suit a veterinarian whose qualification was obtained outside Malaysia and who is seeking a clinical support position. All clinical duties will be carried out under the direction of a registered veterinarian and within the role’s permitted scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor inpatients and make sure their prescribed care plans are followed.
• Coordinate the timely completion of medication, feeding, treatments and monitoring ordered by the attending veterinarian.
• Keep ward records, treatment sheets and patient updates accurate and up to date.
• Alert the veterinarian promptly to changes in a patient’s condition, missed orders or concerns.
• Assist with patient preparation and monitoring during anaesthesia under veterinary direction.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures, including X-rays and ultrasound, as directed.
• Prepare and maintain clinical equipment, treatment areas and ward supplies.
• Support clear handovers between shifts and communicate patient updates to the veterinary team.
• Work closely with veterinary assistants and other clinic staff to keep ward care organised.

Requirements

• Veterinary degree obtained outside Malaysia, or relevant veterinary technician qualification.
• Experience in small-animal practice, inpatient care or clinical support is an advantage.
• Good attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
• Able to work responsibly as part of a team and follow clinical instructions.
• Able to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, according to the roster.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Malaysia.

Important Scope of Role

This is a veterinary technician and clinical support position. The role does not include independent diagnosis, prescribing or treatment decisions. Clinical decisions remain with the attending registered veterinarian.
