Royal Albatross is seeking a responsible and experienced Second Engineer to join our 47-metre luxury tall ship, operating dining cruises and private events from Resorts World Sentosa.

You will assist the Chief Engineer with the daily operation, maintenance and repair of the ship’s engines, machinery and engineering systems. This is a Singapore-based role that allows you to return home daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer in operating and maintaining main engines, generators and auxiliary machinery.
• Perform routine inspections, servicing and preventive maintenance to keep equipment safe and reliable.
• Identify mechanical and electrical faults, carry out repairs within your competence and report issues promptly.
• Check and maintain pumps, compressors, fuel systems, lubrication systems and cooling systems.
• Assist with bunkering (refuelling), fuel monitoring and spill prevention.
• Keep the engine room, tools and engineering work areas clean, organised and safe.
• Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance and repair records.
• Monitor spare parts and engineering supplies, and report replacement requirements.
• Follow onboard safety procedures and applicable maritime requirements, and participate in emergency drills.
• Support daily vessel operations and carry out other engineering duties assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Requirements

• Engine Driver Class 2 Certificate or Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 5 – Special Limit.
• Relevant marine engineering experience, preferably on yachts, passenger vessels or similar vessels.
• Practical knowledge of marine diesel engines, generators and auxiliary machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot faults and carry out maintenance safely.
• Ability to work independently when required and cooperate with the Chief Engineer and wider crew.
• A responsible attitude, attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Pay: $4,000.00 - $4,500.00 per month
