Salary: MYR 32,000–40,000 per month

About the Role

TGS International are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Projects Director to lead and oversee the delivery of complex IT infrastructure, data centre and large-scale commercial fit-out projects in Malaysia.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the implementation, delivery, operational support and financial performance of the Project Delivery business area. Working alongside an established management team, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, developing the project delivery function and ensuring all projects are delivered efficiently, profitably and to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will have extensive senior-level experience managing multiple complex project implementations, with a strong background in structured cabling, data centre infrastructure and commercial construction environments. This is a senior leadership opportunity requiring exceptional commercial awareness, strategic thinking and the ability to build long-term client relationships while driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the strategic delivery of large-scale IT infrastructure, data centre and commercial fit-out projects.

Oversee Operations Managers, Project Managers and Site Managers responsible for client projects across the business unit.

Take overall responsibility for project implementation, delivery, operational support and financial performance.

Manage strategic project requirements, identifying and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Review high-level project deliverables, ensuring quality assurance procedures and client engagement reviews are consistently maintained.

Develop, implement and maintain effective business operations and project delivery processes.

Establish and implement strategic objectives aligned with wider corporate and departmental goals.

Monitor and report on business unit profit and loss performance.

Ensure the business unit achieves or exceeds budgeted financial targets, including revenue and profit margins.

Develop and deliver revenue growth and wider commercial objectives.

Lead contract pricing negotiations and commercial discussions where required.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, stakeholders and business partners.

Communicate business unit performance, operational updates and strategic developments to senior leadership.

Manage complex personnel matters, working alongside HR where appropriate and maintaining a professional and supportive approach.

Evaluate and improve business unit services, offerings and operational capabilities.

Provide technical and commercial guidance to clients, ensuring the most appropriate infrastructure solutions are delivered.

Coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams involving multiple organisations, technical specialists and commercial stakeholders.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

Extensive senior-level experience managing complex IT infrastructure projects, including structured cabling systems, data centre environments and large-scale commercial fit-out builds.

In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure project delivery methodologies, covering design, implementation, testing, commissioning and handover.

Strong understanding of IT infrastructure contracts, scopes of work, technical specifications, SLAs and compliance requirements.

Proven experience managing vendor agreements, commercial contracts and project deliverables.

Excellent knowledge of PRINCE2 project management standards.

Demonstrable experience overseeing multiple project implementations simultaneously.

Proven ability to manage projects involving multiple companies, organisational units and technical disciplines.

Experience managing projects involving technical, business and financial stakeholders.

Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure, structured cabling and commercial construction environments.

Experience developing and implementing operational strategies aligned with wider corporate objectives.

Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, profit and loss reporting and margin management.

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.

Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation experience.
