About VSYN Group

VSYN Group is an emerging investment platform based in Kuala Lumpur, focused on building long-term value through principal investments and selected private-market opportunities.

We are at an important stage of our development — building the team, investment capabilities, partnerships and institutional infrastructure required for our next phase of growth. Over time, VSYN intends to develop broader capabilities across private markets and asset management, subject to the relevant regulatory requirements.

VSYN seeks to combine entrepreneurial investing with disciplined institutional investment practices, working alongside founders, business owners and strategic partners to identify, structure and grow investment opportunities.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Managing Director to work closely with the Founder & Chairman in building and developing VSYN Group.

The successful candidate will play a central role across investment strategy, transaction execution, capital formation and investor relationships, while helping build the team, processes and institutional foundations required for VSYN's next phase of development.

This is not a conventional MD role in an already-established institution. We are looking for someone who combines strong investment and transaction experience with an entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset, commercial judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships with capital partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Founder & Chairman to develop and execute VSYN's investment strategy.

• Originate, evaluate, structure and execute principal and private-market investment opportunities.

• Lead capital formation initiatives and develop relationships with family offices, HNW investors, institutional investors and strategic capital partners to support transactions, co-investments and the long-term development of VSYN.

• Lead financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, transaction structuring and investment recommendations.

• Develop relationships with founders, business owners, financial institutions and strategic partners.

• Oversee and support portfolio companies, including growth strategy, capital planning and value creation.

• Build disciplined investment processes, governance and portfolio-monitoring frameworks.

• Recruit and develop the investment team as the platform grows.

• Help shape VSYN's longer-term institutional and regulated investment capabilities.

Who We Are Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates with significant experience in private markets/private equity, investment banking, principal investments, family office investing, M&A, corporate finance or asset management.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Approximately 10–15+ years of relevant investment or transaction experience.

• Strong experience in deal evaluation, financial modelling, valuation, due diligence and transaction execution.

• A demonstrable track record of participating in or leading investments, acquisitions, disposals or corporate transactions.

• Demonstrable experience in capital raising, investor relations or developing capital partnerships, with an established network across family offices, HNW investors, institutional investors or other relevant capital providers strongly preferred.

• Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of how businesses create value beyond financial modelling.

• Strong relationships within Malaysia's investment, corporate and capital-markets ecosystem would be advantageous.

• Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial environment without the infrastructure of a large institution.

• Willingness to be hands-on during the platform's early development.

• Strong integrity, judgement and alignment with a long-term investment approach.
