Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Multimedia, Digital Media, Film, Mass Communication, Creative Media, Video Production or a related discipline.

• Minimum 1 year of relevant video editing or content production experience.

• Fresh graduates with a strong video editing portfolio may also be considered.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating short-form video editing skills.

• Good understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts and/or Xiaohongshu/RED.

• Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling and audience retention.

• Good sense of music, timing, visual composition and typography.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Able to work efficiently under deadlines.

• Able to manage multiple editing projects simultaneously.

• Able to receive feedback and implement revisions accurately.

• Willing to learn and experiment with new editing techniques and AI technologies.

• Able to work independently and collaboratively.

Job Summary

The Video Editor & AI Content Creator is responsible for producing high-quality short-form video content for social media platforms and digital advertising campaigns.

The role involves transforming raw footage, interviews, client shoots and other creative assets into engaging videos that effectively communicate the intended message and maintain audience attention.

The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of video storytelling, pacing, viewer retention, visual composition and social media content formats. The role also requires the ability to utilise AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to improve video production efficiency and creative output.

Job Responsibilities

1. Short-Form Video Editing

• Edit short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts and Xiaohongshu/RED.

• Edit videos generally ranging from approximately 15–90 seconds, depending on content requirements.

• Review raw footage and identify the strongest takes, scenes and soundbites.

• Structure footage into clear and engaging narratives.

• Create strong opening sequences and hooks to capture audience attention.

• Improve video pacing by removing unnecessary or repetitive content.

• Incorporate B-roll, stock footage, graphics and other visual elements where appropriate.

• Adapt videos according to platform requirements and brand guidelines.

2. Storytelling & Audience Retention

• Apply storytelling principles to improve content flow and viewer engagement.

• Improve hooks, pacing and transitions based on the intended audience.

• Identify opportunities to create pattern interrupts and visual changes.

• Use editing techniques to maintain viewer attention throughout the video.

• Make creative recommendations to improve the overall effectiveness of the content.

• Ensure the final edit communicates the intended message clearly.

3. Subtitles, Graphics & Visual Effects

• Create accurate and visually engaging subtitles and captions.

• Highlight key words, phrases and messages through typography and visual treatment.

• Add music, sound effects and appropriate audio enhancements.

• Create basic motion graphics and visual effects where required.

• Apply brand colours, fonts and visual guidelines consistently.

• Ensure videos maintain a professional and consistent visual standard.

4. AI-Assisted Video Production

• Utilise AI tools to support video editing and content production.

• Create or integrate AI-generated images, videos, B-roll, voiceovers or other creative assets.

• Explore AI avatars and generative video technologies where appropriate.

• Use AI-assisted editing features to improve production efficiency.

• Test and evaluate new AI tools relevant to video production.

• Maintain quality, accuracy and brand consistency when using AI-generated content.

5. Content Repurposing

• Convert long-form content into multiple short-form videos.

• Repurpose existing content into different formats and creative variations.

• Re-edit successful content for different audiences or platforms.

• Develop multiple video variations for digital advertising and content testing.

• Adapt video content according to platform requirements.

6. Production Support

• Assist with basic video production activities when required.

• Support smartphone, DSLR or mirrorless camera shoots.

• Assist with basic lighting and audio setup.

• Participate in client shoots and external production activities.

• Provide basic filming support when required.
