Position Overview

We are looking for interns with a background in Welding, Metal Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields to join our Facility & Maintenance Department.

Candidates pursuing a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in a relevant field are welcome to apply.

The intern will assist the maintenance team with welding, metal fabrication, equipment modification, and repair work. This internship is suitable for candidates who have basic welding skills and are interested in hands-on work in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in welding and metal fabrication work for machine parts, frames, brackets, supports, and other metal components.
• Support cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting of metal materials for fabrication and repair work.
• Assist in modifying and repairing machine guards, equipment structures, workstations, and other metal fixtures.
• Support the fabrication and installation of brackets, platforms, trolleys, racks, and other workshop items.
• Assist in measuring, marking, cutting, and preparing materials according to required dimensions.
• Support maintenance activities involving welding, metal repair, and equipment modification.
• Assist in preparing materials, tools, and equipment for welding and fabrication jobs.
• Help inspect finished welds and fabricated parts for basic quality and dimensional requirements.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and the workshop in good working condition.
• Follow welding safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fire prevention measures.
• Assist the maintenance team with other mechanical repair and improvement projects when required.

Skills & Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or holding a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Welding, Metal Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Candidates with relevant skills certificates, such as SKM in Welding or Metal Fabrication, are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, or SMAW (arc welding), is an advantage.
• Familiarity with cutting, grinding, drilling, and basic metal fabrication work.
• Able to use basic workshop tools and measuring instruments.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings and understand dimensions is an advantage.
• Willing to perform hands-on welding, fabrication, and repair work under supervision.
• Responsible, safety-conscious, and able to work well with the maintenance team.
• Willing to learn and assist with various workshop and maintenance activities.

Pay: RM1,250.00 per month
