The Senior Manager / Manager, Business Control & Reporting (BCR) is responsible for supporting the Business Unit Controller and business stakeholders in the day-to-day management of financial planning, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business performance monitoring. The role provides timely financial analysis, reporting and business insights, ensures compliance with financial policies and controls, and supports business leaders in achieving financial and operational objectives.


Responsibilities:


Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting Support


  • Coordinate the annual budget, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlook processes for assigned business unit
  • Prepare budget and forecast templates, consolidate submissions and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information.
  • Monitor budget utilisation and analyse variances against budget, forecast and prior periods.
  • Support budget holders in preparing financial assumptions and projections.
  • Maintain planning models and forecasting tools to support business requirements.


Financial Reporting & Analysis


  • Prepare monthly management reports, financial dashboards and performance packs.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis on revenue, operating expenditure, capital expenditure and profitability.
  • Track and monitor key financial and operational performance indicators.
  • Analyse business performance trends and identify areas requiring management attention.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to support management reporting requirements.


Business Performance Monitoring


  • Support business stakeholders by providing financial information and analysis to facilitate operational decision-making.
  • Work closely with budget owners to review financial performance and cost management initiatives.
  • Assist in evaluating business cases, investment proposals and expenditure requests.
  • Highlight financial risks, cost overruns and performance gaps for management review.
  • Support follow-up of action plans arising from business performance reviews.


Financial Control & Governance


  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures and internal control requirements.
  • Review financial transactions, accruals, provisions and cost allocations for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Assist in internal and external audit exercises by preparing supporting schedules and documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with delegated authority limits and governance requirements.


Stakeholder & Finance Coordination


  • Serve as a point of contact between business users and Finance shared services teams.
  • Coordinate with Accounting, Treasury, Tax and other Finance functions on reporting and operational matters.
  • Support resolution of finance-related issues raised by business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate collection and validation of financial information from various departments.
  • Support implementation of Finance initiatives and reporting requirements.


Process Improvement & Systems Support


  • Support improvements in reporting processes, templates and financial controls.
  • Assist in enhancing data quality, reporting automation and dashboard development.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Participate in Finance transformation and system enhancement projects.
  • Ensure consistency and standardisation of reporting practices across the business.


Requirement:


  • Degree in Finance or related field; Member of a recognized Professional Accounting Body (ie MIA, ACCA)
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • > 7 years relevant working experience (in marine or/and oil and gas industry).
  • Strong financial reporting and management accounting skills.
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong financial controls mindset.
  • Proficient in Excel, Power BI and financial reporting tools
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines and priorities.
  • Team player with strong coordination and execution capabilities.
