Analyzes digital behavior and performance to help organizations improve websites, apps, campaigns, and customer journeys. Works with marketing, product, design, engineering, and business teams to define measurement needs, establish useful metrics, and translate digital activity into practical recommendations. The role may focus on analysis, advisory work, or leadership of a digital analytics function.

A Web Analytics Analyst tracks and analyzes website or app activity, builds dashboards, investigates changes in traffic and user behavior, and reports on conversions and engagement. A Digital Analytics Consultant advises teams or clients on measurement strategy, event tracking, analytics implementation, attribution, experimentation, and data quality. A Digital Analytics Manager leads the analytics team or program, sets measurement priorities and standards, manages resources, and ensures insights inform product and marketing decisions.

Defines measurement plans, events, goals, and reporting requirements for digital experiences. Reviews user journeys, traffic sources, campaign performance, conversion funnels, retention, and product usage. May analyze the results of A/B tests, personalization, content changes, or product releases. Investigates anomalies and data gaps, checks that tracking is implemented consistently, and collaborates with technical teams on tagging, consent settings, and analytics integrations.

Prepares dashboards, reports, presentations, and recommendations for business stakeholders. Helps teams understand what the data can and cannot show, including limitations related to attribution, sampling, tracking gaps, or consent. Supports responsible data practices by coordinating with privacy and legal teams and following organizational requirements for analytics collection and retention. Manager-level roles may oversee measurement strategy, analytics governance, vendor relationships, and development of the organization’s digital insights capability.

• Bachelor’s degree in analytics, marketing, business, statistics, information systems, or a related field
• Experience in web analytics, digital analytics, product analytics, marketing measurement, or data consulting
• Familiarity with web and app measurement concepts, including events, sessions, funnels, conversions, and attribution
• Experience with analytics and visualization platforms; familiarity with Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or equivalent tools is an asset
• Understanding of tag management and tracking implementation; experience with tools such as Google Tag Manager or equivalent is beneficial
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with spreadsheets; SQL, Python, or R experience is an asset
• Ability to design measurement plans and translate business questions into suitable metrics and analyses
• Experience creating dashboards and presenting insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with experimentation, A/B testing, and digital optimization methods is beneficial
• Strong attention to detail when validating tracking, event definitions, and reporting outputs
• Good communication, project-management, and stakeholder-coordination skills
• Awareness of consent, privacy, data retention, and responsible use of digital behavior data
• Experience collaborating with product, marketing, design, engineering, and privacy teams
• Team leadership, analytics governance, strategy ownership, and vendor management may be expected for manager-level roles
• Relevant analytics certifications or experience in the organization’s industry are an asset
