Jobs Kreate is recruiting on behalf of a client for a shipboard Assistant Chief Housekeeper position. The successful candidate will support the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing daily housekeeping operations, maintaining high cleanliness standards and leading a multicultural team onboard.

Important: Cruise ship grading may differ from land-based hospitality structures. Candidates may be offered a position one or two ranks below their current land-based role, subject to the cruise line’s assessment and operational requirements.

• Open to Malaysian and Singaporean citizens only.

• This is a full-time position. Part-time applications will not be considered.

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assistant Chief Housekeeper or in a higher-level housekeeping position within a 4-star or 5-star hospitality environment.

• Onboard experience in a similar or higher-level housekeeping position is required.

• Experience with ship operations involving 500 or more staterooms is required.

• Proven experience leading and developing a multicultural team.

• Fluent in English with excellent verbal communication skills.

• Additional language abilities are an advantage.

• Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for cleanliness and maintenance standards.

• Proficient in PC-based databases, spreadsheets and word-processing systems.

• Strong leadership, coaching, motivational and team-building skills.

• Good knowledge of public health, sanitation, chemical safety and housekeeping procedures.

• Guest-focused, service-oriented, flexible and able to perform effectively under pressure.

• Business Administration or Hotel Management degree is preferred.

Salary

• Salary: USD 3,499

• Contract duration: 4 months

• Support the Executive Housekeeper in managing daily housekeeping operations across guest staterooms, public areas, corridors and storage areas.

• Inspect housekeeping areas regularly and report or follow up on damages, malfunctions, safety concerns and maintenance issues.

• Monitor housekeeping supplies, locker stock levels and weekly requisitions to ensure sufficient items are available.

• Track housekeeping logs and special cleaning schedules, including carpet cleaning, curtain cleaning, furniture care and shower-head sanitation.

• Respond to guest concerns and special requests according to service standards, escalating matters when required.

• Lead and support the housekeeping team to maintain productivity, service quality, crew satisfaction and retention.

• Conduct performance reviews, onboard training, succession planning, crew communication and recognition activities.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, grooming and guest comfort throughout assigned areas.

• Ensure compliance with public health, environmental, fire, chemical, PPE, safety and security procedures.

• Prepare for and participate in onboard public health inspections.

• Contribute towards housekeeping quality and financial KPIs while protecting company property and equipment.
