As our portfolio continues to grow in Singapore and the region, we are seeking an experienced Drafting & BIM Lead to strengthen our digital engineering capabilities and lead the delivery of high-quality drafting and BIM outputs across our projects.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for candidates from civil, structural, infrastructure, steel, offshore, or building sectors who are looking to transition into the growing marine and coastal engineering discipline and broaden their technical experience.

Role Overview

The Drafting & BIM Lead will lead and coordinate a team of drafters and BIM modellers, ensuring accurate, consistent, and high-quality drawings and digital models are delivered across multiple marine and infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to translate engineering concepts and design intent into clear, precise, and constructible drafting deliverables.

This is an office-based leadership role in Singapore, suitable for an experienced drafting/BIM professional who combines strong technical knowledge with team leadership capabilities.

Candidates with strong Singapore project experience from structural, civil infrastructure, steel structures, industrial, or building sectors are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drafters and BIM modellers.

• Allocate drafting resources, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.

• Manage drafting workloads across multiple projects and priorities.

• Promote knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and technical development within the team.

Technical Oversight & Quality Control

• Review and approve engineering drawings, BIM models, and detailing prepared by the drafting team.

• Ensure drawings and models meet project requirements, company standards, and engineering design intent.

• Maintain quality, accuracy, consistency, and constructability of all drafting deliverables.

• Provide technical guidance on drafting practices, detailing standards, and modelling approaches.

• Oversee preparation and review of:

  • General Arrangement (GA) drawings

  • Detailed engineering drawings

  • Construction drawings

  • Fabrication drawings

  • Steel structural detailing and connection details where applicable

BIM Management & Digital Delivery

• Drive BIM implementation and digital engineering practices within the organisation.

• Develop and maintain BIM/CAD standards, templates, libraries, and workflows.

• Support BIM coordination and clash detection activities with engineering teams.

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through digital tools, automation, and improved modelling processes.

Project & Stakeholder Coordination

• Work closely with engineers and project managers to understand design requirements and translate them into accurate drafting outputs.

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and other project stakeholders on drafting and BIM-related matters.

• Support project discussions relating to deliverables, timelines, technical requirements, and construction considerations.

• Ensure drawings and documentation comply with Singapore regulatory and authority submission requirements, including where applicable:

  • BCA

  • JTC

  • LTA

  • PUB

  • SCDF

  • MPA

Requirements

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, BIM Management, or related disciplines.

• BIM-related certifications such as Revit, Civil 3D, or equivalent are advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant drafting, BIM modelling, or detailing experience within the Singapore market.

• Proven experience leading drafting teams and coordinating BIM/drafting deliverables for engineering projects.

• Strong experience in structural drafting and detailing, including steel structural works.

• Experience in:

  • Steel structural detailing

  • Steel connection detailing

  • Fabrication drawings

  • Erection drawings

  • General Arrangement (GA) drawings

  • Construction and shop drawings

• Good understanding of steel structures, fabrication processes, and erection considerations.

• Experience coordinating with structural engineers, consultants, contractors, and fabricators.

• Experience working on multidisciplinary projects involving civil, structural, marine, infrastructure, industrial, or building disciplines.

• Prior team leadership or coordination experience is required.

• Marine and coastal engineering experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Candidates from civil infrastructure, structural engineering, bridge, offshore, industrial, LTA, MRT, utilities, or building sectors are welcome to apply.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in CAD/BIM platforms such as:

  • AutoCAD

  • Revit

  • Civil 3D

  • Tekla Structures

  • Navisworks

  • Other relevant BIM software

• Familiar with BIM coordination workflows, model management, and clash detection processes.

• Strong understanding of drafting standards, engineering drawings, and documentation requirements in Singapore.

• Knowledge of structural detailing principles and relevant design standards such as Singapore Standards, Eurocodes, BS, or equivalent is advantageous.
