This opportunity sits within a technical safety and process safety environment, supporting project and proposal delivery through high-quality engineering output aligned with schedule, cost, and HSE expectations. The role focuses on loss prevention engineering, consequence modelling, and technical safety studies, with exposure to tools such as Phast, FRED, Vessfire, and Pipenet. This position offers the chance to work across multidisciplinary engineering activities while contributing to safety design, risk reduction, and compliance with international standards.

Contract Duration

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  
  

Required Experience

• Extensive experience in the technical safety field
• Background in loss prevention engineering, including firewater system design, hazardous area classification, safety layouts, fire suppression system design, and dispersion studies
• Experience reviewing technical safety study reports produced by external safety consultants
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting project schedule, cost, and quality expectations
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of consequence modelling and technical safety deliverables
• Hands-on experience with Pipenet and Phast
• Familiarity with FRED and Vessfire
• Strong understanding of loss prevention design principles
• Knowledge of international standards including NFPA, BS, API, EI, ISO, and IP
• Familiarity with company and industry specifications such as Norsok, PTS, and Shell standards, alongside local regulations
• English (Fluent)

• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia or an international professional engineering body as a professional member
