- Perform functional, integration, regression, API, backend, usability, and exploratory testing.
- Validate end-to-end onboarding flows across different systems and integrations.
- Test APIs using tools such as Postman/Newman.
- Perform database validation using SQL.
- Investigate failures, reproduce defects, identify root causes, and work with developers to resolve them.
- Retest fixes and ensure defects do not reappear.
Test Automation
- Build and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using Python.
- Develop automated UI, API, and regression tests using Selenium, Playwright, Appium, or similar tools.
- Increase automated test coverage and reduce repetitive manual testing.
- Maintain reliable and reusable automation suites.
- Review and improve existing automation to reduce flaky tests and improve execution time.
Performance & Reliability Testing
- Execute performance and load tests using JMeter, K6, or similar tools.
- Identify performance, scalability, and reliability issues before production.
- Analyse test results and work with developers to address bottlenecks.
- Support testing for high-volume onboarding scenarios.
CI/CD & Quality
- Integrate automated tests into Jenkins, GitLab CI, or other CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure automated tests run as part of the development and release process.
- Investigate failed pipeline tests and determine whether failures are caused by defects, environments, or test issues.
- Provide clear quality feedback before releases.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
- Collaborate with developers, delivery managers, product owners, and business stakeholders from requirement discovery, clarifying expectations and providing continuous feedback.
- Challenge assumptions, identify risks, and define testable acceptance criteria early to prevent defects and reduce rework.
- Help improve the development lifecycle and team practices through clear communication and shared ownership of quality.
- Mentor junior QA engineers in testing, automation, and effective collaboration.
- Promote practical testing standards that support early feedback and reliable delivery.
Examples of This Role in Practice
In this role, you will be hands-on and collaborative — helping the team build quality into the product from the beginning.
We believe shift-left testing starts during requirement discovery. You will work with delivery manager, product owner, developers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify risks, and prevent defects before development begins. Clear communication and continuous improvement of our development practices are essential.
You will also write and execute tests, investigate failures, automate regression testing, and test APIs, performance, and scalability.
Success Means
- Clear, testable requirements, and early feedback.
- Better collaboration to prevent defects and reduce rework.
- Reliable automated tests are integrated into CI/CD.
- Strong coverage of API, backend, and performance risks.
- Fewer production defects and faster, reliable releases.
