Build Nursing Capacity and Capability

·       Engage and retain staff through career progression and recognize outstanding performers

·       Increase unit specific capability and develop competent nursing staff

·       Has overall responsibility for the orientation, induction, nursing competency assessment, staff learning needs and plans for self and nurses’ career progression

·       Role model the desired team and leadership behaviour

Improve Clinical Quality and Staff and Patient Safety

·       Enhance safety culture by reducing sharp injuries

·       Facilitate reviews with staff on the hospital occurrence reports (HOR) and ensure plans are implemented to minimize future occurrences

·       Improve infection control practices and reduce risks of health care associated infection

·       Perform check on the integrity of the sterile instruments, instrument sets and packs from the storage to usage.

Deliver Excellent Service to Enhance Patient’s and Doctor’s Experience

·       Build strong relationships with doctors

·       Ensure customer satisfaction, resolve and follow through service/quality/medico-legal issues

Demonstrate Managerial Competencies

·       Set unit goals and objectives in consultation with the clinical team and DON

·       Nurture nurses’ progression through mentoring and role modelling

·       Plan staff schedule as per organization guidelines to ensure there is efficient use of adequate skill mix

Requirements

• Min Degree in Nursing

• Min 2 to 3 years of experience as nurse manager / Assistant Nurse manager in hospital setting
