1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

2. At least 5 years of experience in Accounts, 2-3 years of relevant experience in direct and indirect tax functions.

3. Strong experience with ERP systems; knowledge of SAP is highly advantageous.

4. Excellent analytical skills, detail-oriented, and capable of working under tight deadlines.

5. Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to liaise across departments and with external auditors.

About the role…

ALP, an innovative firm specializing in logistics property development, is seeking an Account Senior Executive to support our growing operations in Malaysia. The role’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, a full set of accounts, financial reporting, and compliance functions.

Internally, this role works closely with the finance team and contributes to both accounting operations and tax-related matters.

What you will do…

1. Reporting & Accounting Support

   1. Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, verification, and posting

   2. Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journals, accruals, and prepayments

   3. Prepare and maintain schedules for balance sheet accounts and ensure proper supporting documentation

   4. Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies in financial data

   5. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies

   6. Liaise with external auditors by preparing audit schedules, supporting documents, and responding to audit queries

   7. Monitor and improve internal controls over financial reporting processes

   8. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and proper expense recognition

2. Tax Management & Compliance

   1. Support the preparation of corporate tax computations and tax returns

   2. Assist in indirect tax compliance and reporting

   3. Liaise with tax agents and support tax audits or queries

   4. Ensure proper tax treatment in accounting transactions

3. System & Process Improvement

   1. Support ERP/finance system implementation and enhancement

   2. Ensure accurate tax and accounting configuration in accounting systems

   3. Develop and maintain SOPs for accounting processes

   4. Support any ad-hoc matter assigned by management
