Wanted –Second Engineer – 47m Private Yacht
– We are seeking a responsible and experienced Second Engineer to join our 47-metre private yacht. The successful candidate will assist the Chief Engineer in the daily operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the yacht’s engine room and onboard machinery, ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Chief Engineer in the operation and maintenance of main engines, generators, and auxiliary machinery.
Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of engine room equipment.
Monitor and maintain pumps, compressors, fuel and lubrication systems, cooling systems, and other onboard machinery.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults and carry out repairs when required.
Maintain engine room cleanliness, safety standards, maintenance records, and inventory of spare parts.
Assist with bunkering, fuel management, and other engineering operations.
Ensure compliance with onboard safety procedures and applicable maritime regulations.
Maintain machinery readiness and support the safe and reliable operation of the yacht.
Perform other engineering duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
Minimum Qualifications
Engine Driver Class 2 Certificate or Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 5 – Special Limit.
Relevant experience in marine engineering, preferably onboard yachts, passenger vessels, or similar vessels.
Good knowledge of marine diesel engines, generators, auxiliary machinery, and engine room maintenance.
Ability to work independently, troubleshoot machinery faults, and work effectively as part of a team.
Responsible, safety-conscious, and willing to assist with daily onboard operations.
