What The Role Is

The work of the Resilience and Engagement Division (RED) centres on strengthening national identity, enhancing social cohesion and solidarity, and commitment to contribute to the common good. We do this through three pillars of work which have an impact on both locals and newcomers into Singapore society: fostering a strong and inclusive sense of national identity; helping newcomers integrate into Singapore and appreciate what it means to be part of Singapore; and promoting a culture of volunteerism and giving.

As part of the SG Cares Office, you will review and formulate policies, strategies and plans to grow sustained volunteerism and giving in Singapore.

Our team collaborates closely with Whole-of-Government agencies and key stakeholders, including National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), Community Foundation of Singapore (CFS), Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM), Singapore Cares Volunteer Centres (SG Cares VCs), and community and corporate partners, to foster greater volunteerism and giving for a more caring and cohesive Singapore.

What You Will Be Working On

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing an understanding of key drivers and barriers of volunteerism and giving outcomes.
  • Monitoring and analysing Singapore’s volunteerism and giving progress and trends.
  • Developing and reviewing policies and programmes to improve volunteerism and giving outcomes. This will involve working with other government agencies and key stakeholders (such as NVPC, CFS and SKM) to address cross-cutting issues.
  • Enlisting and engaging non-government stakeholders to co-create solutions, and drive efforts to raise the volunteerism and donation rates in Singapore.
  • Driving the agenda for the inter-agency SG Cares Secretariat Coordination committee involving key stakeholders in the volunteering and giving ecosystem, to increase overall volunteerism and donation in Singapore.
