Job Summary
As a Full-Time English Tutor at TutorJohn Learning Centre, you will deliver engaging English language lessons (covering Paper 1 Composition/Situational Writing, Paper 2 Language Use & Comprehension, Oral, and Listening Comprehension), monitor student progress, and contribute to English curriculum development to support student success in Primary and Secondary education.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct engaging English tuition classes for Primary and Secondary students to enhance learning outcomes and literacy skills.
Prepare and deliver lessons focusing on grammar, vocabulary, comprehension strategies, essay writing techniques, and oral communication using TutorJohn's in-house curriculum.
Mark student compositions, assignments, and test papers, providing constructive feedback to guide continuous improvement.
Monitor students’ academic progress and identify specific areas requiring additional support (e.g., creative writing techniques, comprehension answering techniques).
Maintain clear and timely communication with parents regarding student performance and development when required.
Assist in English lesson planning, curriculum enhancement, and the development of teaching resources aligned with the current MOE English syllabus.
Support school holiday English writing bootcamps, revision workshops, and enrichment classes to extend learning opportunities.
Participate actively in team meetings, training sessions, and centre events to foster collaboration and professional growth.
Maintain a positive, organised, and professional classroom environment conducive to learning.
Required Competencies and Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
Strong command of spoken and written English.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsible, patient, and able to work well in a team.
Preferred Competencies and Qualifications
Familiarity with the latest MOE English Language syllabus and national exam formats (PSLE / GCE O-Level / N-Level).
Passionate about teaching, mentoring students, and fostering a love for reading and writing.
Working Hours
5-Day Work Week
Weekdays:
1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Weekends (where applicable):
Morning/Afternoon classes
One weekday and one weekend day off (subject to operational needs).
Salary & Benefits
Monthly Salary:
S$3,000 – S$4,000 (depending on qualifications and experience)
Performance Bonus
Annual Wage Supplement (AWS / 13th Month Bonus) upon completion of 12 months
